What should I do for the science fair?

I want something really original and awsome so I can have a good chance in winning an award in the regional science fair. I'm not asking you to do it, just like some ideas or examples. Mine has to have the usual, a project title, problem statement or question, hypothesis, detailed procedure, bibliography(atleast 5 sources), and a correct ISEF category Selected. It's not due til like the end of March, so I have A LOT of time. I don't want to do anything TO hard, since I'm only a freshman with no car or money..so I think I only have 2 questions.along with this, 1. Where can I find the sources for the bibliography? 2. Does US society really worry when men and women don't get married and have kids?

Hi all! I've been reading about how more and more American men and women aren't tying the knot anymore. I'm 29 years and I've never been married. I have absolute no intention to get married or have kids either. However, many unmarried people are still, of course, having and therefore, more and more babies are being conceived and born into the world to unmarried parents. Does US society really worry when men and women don't get married and have kids? I mean, is this society's worst nightmare? Hypothetically speaking, if people stopped getting married all of a sudden, would that really impact our US society with dire consequences? Many people in almost all societies around the world, not just here in the US, say that marriage is the fundamental backbone for a country to survive in the short-term and in the long-term. My husband and I just found the perfect house for us and our three boys. It's in a great neighbourhood and has a large yard. The only problem is that it is a little close to power lines. The power lines aren't right next to the house. There is a field, a row of houses a street and then another row of houses before our house. In other words the house is on the street after the street where the houses that back on to the lines are. I'd say the power lines are at least 400 ft away. You can't see the power lines from anywhere in the house. You could only see them a little from the back yard. We had an EMF reading done and everything is fine in terms of electromagnetic fields so I'm not concerned about health issues. My main concern is resale. So here is the question: Would you buy a house that close to power lines?

congrats :) i am 19 and im 21 weeks ! we werent exactly ready for something like this but we made ourselves ready, we now have good paying jobs, an apartment together, cars, etc. our family has been supportive and i know will be of great istance to us if we ever need anything. my opinion is to go through with the pregnancy. a child is a blessing. if you terminate your pregnancy you will regret it.. and even though we werent ready, we made ourselves :) its going to be hard but if your boyfriend truly loves you he will stick by your side no matter how much stress is occuring in your relationship. a baby is hard work but i think its going to be fun being a mommy :) i know i can handle it. im going to do anything and everything to make sure my baby is 100% happy and has everything she needs! goodluck to you hun and congrats once again i believe you can do it :)

My 76 Chevy pickup won't pump fuel what could be wrong?

I have checked the fuel lines, replaced the fuel pump and fuel filters. When I put gas in the carburetors it runs for a second or two. When i check the fuel lines gas isn't being pumped and I know the pump is on right.

Why did I throw up yellow liquid?

This morning I woke up not feeling quite right. I started feeling very nauseous, and driving in the car for a while made it worse. When we got home I got the urgent feeling I was going to throw up so I ran to the bathroom and threw up yellow and clear liquid. Pretty sure it was bile. I hadn't eaten anything at all. Lets see if I can help here. You dont have to prove your innocence but they have to prove you were negligent in starting the fire. You may need to get an attorney, may be ale to get one thru legal aid ociation if you need, to get the evidence you seek. Personally I would say it had something to do with a faulty water heater but without concrete evidence,its hard to say for sure. The attorney can open doors that seem closed to you. The last person from what you wrote, I wouldsuspect started this would be your son. You can go after whoever you feel you need to but your case will have to come first. Did you two ever contact your landlord about any problems with either the heater itself or the water in your apartment? If so,did your landlord attempt to fix the problem and/or couldnt? The fire dept should have been able to trace the fire back to where it originated and figure out what exactly started it. 30 weeks preg. terminated from my health insurance!! HELP!!?

i can't believe this. i went in yesterday for a l scan (my cervix is too short and i go in for weekly monitering) and the lady said that i as terminated from my insurance. My father offered to pay f my insurance up until after i gave birth so i am on his Kaiser family plan. as far as i know we have a really good plan i rarely even pay copayments except for labs and even then its only $10. (we got good nsurance after a few family health scares over the years) anyhoo, im 19 and ve been on complete bedrest since 21 weeks preg, i was ordered to 23 hours of bedrest a day. well because of this i couldnt enroll in any cles for fall and the insurance is claiming that if you are over 18 then you have to be going school full time. this is really hard to deal with right now and i need to get it fixed proptly since i need my weekly screenings. ive been told repeatedly that they dont even think my cervix will hold until 35 weeks. what should i do? does anybody know anything about COBRA?

For me, it is "God be with you til' we meet again." We were singing that song at home when my father died in his bed. I think he fought dying in the hospital cause he wanted to be at home with his family. Every time I hear that song sung it makes me think of him. When I eat, which isnt much, I do it there. The only excercise I get is up and down the stairs a few times a day to step onto the porch to smoke a cig. I know I know. Bad. Anyway....I could use a lecture but I really need to get in shape fast. I need to have a surgery related to cervical cancer within the next 4 weeks and the dr want me to do a physical to see if I am strong enough. I honestly dont. I have never had surgery and am scared of it but it is necessary at this point and I need to get strong so I do not die. I suppose to start off walking would be good but I hate to leave the house. Tonight I tried stretching and the leg muscles are so skinny and not toned at all & can hardly stretch out all the way. It hurts and is tight. Guess they are kind of atrophied. OK so im having MAJOR bridesmaid trouble!?

Effective way to apply Soft Claws to kitten?

My family adopted a kitten after our cat was stolen. She's such a sweet girl but she loves to scratch wood. My dad isn't a fan of cats but he knew that we were devastated over the loss of our first cat. So, a few days ago he caught our kitten, Sabrina scratching at the table leg. He said if he caught her doing it again we were going to have to get rid of her. As I said he's not a fan of cats to begin with. She has multiple scratching posts and cardboard scratchers but she ignores them despite my many attempts. My mom wants to get Sabrina de-clawed and she asked our vet about it. The vet said "I de-claw all my cats and they are perfectly fine". The cat is basically mine because I buy everything for her and I do not want her de-clawed. I searched online for a solution and came across Soft Claws. I watched a few videos of people applying them to their kittens/cats before buying them and it looked simple enough. My vet will put them on but she is going to charge a lot and I'd really rather do it myself. So, my boyfriend and I tried to put some of them on. We managed to get on 5 of them and in a matter of 10 minutes after trying to give her a break only 2 are left on. Does anyone have an effective way that they use to apply these things? I was best friends with this girl for about three years. We were pretty much inseperable, we spent every day together and she would text/call me all the time! Sounds like it could be inappropriatly shifting down gears. (This would explain the sudden jerk and jump in RPMs, as the engine would have to rapidly increase RPMs to make up for the new gear ratio at that speed, causing a jerk.) Something is possibly wrong with whatever decides when to shift gears. (i.e. transmission control; I am uming it is an automatic.) The check engine codes also seem to point to a problem in that area. (IE transmission control and the shift solenoid I beleive is also related.)

Before this gets any more serious and out of control, you need to get some help. There is treatment for this. Get some therapy. You won't get in trouble because you haven't done anything. With therapy, and possibly medication, you can hopefully overcome this. Therapy will help you get to the root of it, and help deal with it, control it, and eventually stop it.

How hard is it for the custodial parent to get supervised visitation ordered on the non-custodial parent?

My husband is the primary caregiver for his 4 year old daughter. The mother's visitation is at times agreed upon by my husband. He has been great with giving her every other weekend, and in the summer he let her stay for 3 day weekends. The mother has married a offender who is still incarcerated. This man has offended a 16 year old when he was 22 and offended another 16 year old at 27. The mother tells my husband that he will just have to "trust her judgement" when it comes to visitation and she will "do her best" to make sure he is not at the house on her weekends. My husband wants her to have supervised visitation at the local Kids Connect. If we can sc up the money for a lawyer again (we are still recovering from the 5k we paid the first attorney) is this going to be hard or easy? Do we need to get our incredibly awesome and incredibly expensive attorney we used the first time or will someone from legal aid be able to prove it up easily? The man will be released from jail 08/2009. Also, the mother has 2 other children and is fearful of us calling CPS on her for the other two being in this situation. She has had 3 CPS strikes against her and says that if she gets another one she will lose her other two for good. One of the two living with her full time is a 9 or 10 year old girl. I have a "complex cyst" on my thyroid and the thyroid is enlarged. I had an ultrasound 6 months ago and another last week. The doctor says the cyst is bigger than it was 6 months ago so he is sending me to an ear, nose and throat specialist. My thyroid bloodwork has all been normal so far. I am just curious as to what the next step might be. My doctor is sending me for more bloodwork to send the results to the specialist. The lump is big enough that I can feel it and it makes me choke on liquids sometimes. Otherwise, I'm fine. The idea of knives and needles near my throat really grosses me out. If you have been through this or know anything more about it, please share! Thanks!

Am I feeding my baby enough, should I increase it at night?

My daughter is 7 weeks old. For the past couple weeks she's been eating between 3 and 4 oz every 2 - 3 hours (she rarely goes more than 2 hours in between feedings). She falls asleep a lot during the day when I'm feeding her so she will barely finish 4 oz but at night she'll wake up twice and both times will "suck" the bottle dry. Do you think I should be increasing the amount I give at her middle-of-the-night feedings? When I put her back down she doesn't get upset, she goes right back to sleep but I'm sure she'd eat more if I had more in the bottle. Did anyone increase the amount they gave their babies at night? Is the amount she's eating during the day ok? We visited a friend who had a 1 week old and she was feeding her 3 oz and said she was eating every 3 to 4 hours. I know every baby is different, just wanted to hear other people's stories.

Whose houses are in threat of being foreclosed, should they not help everyone equally? I could have bought a house and been in a foreclosure situation but did the research and decided that an ARM mortgage is not a good thing. If they refinance these homes through Fannie and Freddie and other banks should they then be forced to offer me the same equity adjustments and low rate refinancing they offer these folks, or should only the irresponsible be rewarded? Something boggles my mind about women in my town, first off I live in a small town, just about no one wears or/ knows what tommy jeans are or/ knows jordan (basketball), I'm handsome, take good care of myself, dress nice, have good fashion sense, have a good sense of humor, doing good in school, outgoing, etc. and I've noticed that women often look at me, most often their look goes it appears like it goes from who's that, then goes to resentment, like I spit in their face or something. Engine Light "On" 2004 Dodge Intrepid?

The other day, I pulled out of a parking lot and the gas pedal sputtered a little, then got going fine. My engine light came on. After I got it home, the next morning, the light was off. PLEASE HELP! My dog is dying after getting vaccines yesterday!?

i took my 4 month old english bulldog to the vet on saturday to get vaccines. she had them done for distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, rabies, and lyme disease. She was fine that day. however, the next day she started limping, shaking, then couldnt even walk or stand. we rushed her to the emergency room. she had a fever and was limping when we got her there. they did bloodwork..which they said seems fine. they put her on an iv and catheter and administered benadryl shots. earlier today she seemed to be getting better and they thought we might be able to bring her home tonite. but when i went to see her an hour ago the doctor said the fever started again and they want to keep her overnight again. i held her in my arms and she was so listless..she wouldnt look at me..just kept her head down and was breathing very heavy. my heart is broken. the doctors said the vet was wrong to give her that many vaccines at once and i cant help but feel that the vet who gave these shots possibly killed my dog. to make matters worse..the vet did not warn me at all..he just said that if her face swelled to bring her back..and that any adverse reactions would happen within one hour. well she didnt get sick till the next day and now she is deathly ill. has anyone had a dog get a fever and limping from vaccines? did the dog die or pull through? any help would be greatly appreciated. i am so upset i feel so helpless and dont know what else i can do. thank you.

I can't get my Samung Captivate to boot anymore, please help!?

Ok so I feel like I'm pretty screwed on this one. About a week ago, I rooted my phone and installed the rom cognition with ROM Manager so that I could use flash. Later, my phone stopped detecting the screen orientation so I decided to try a different rom. I had the most issues with the last one because it was for the i9000 instead of the I897. Finally, I decided just to restore the stock rom from the backup I made with ROM Manager. Now for any backup I choose from the clockworkmod recovery menu, I get an error saying "md5 mismatch" and any time I turn on my phone it shows the at&t logo and then the Galaxy S GT-i9000 logo and just stays on that logo. I can't boot into Download mode because none of the key combinations work except the one to get into recovery and when I use adb it says "device not found". Is there anyway I'll ever get this phone back to normal without having to buy a JIG? Sorry if I mispelled any words or left out any details, it's just that this phone was a Christmas present and I'd hate to have destroyed it after only having it for two weeks.

I need advice on dental implant.

Just a month ago, I broke my upper front tooth due to accident. I still have the bone until the suface of the gum. 3 options were given to me, denture, bridge and implant. Of course the best solution to it is implant. First, the dentist asked to extract my tooth and wear denture for the period of time like 3-6months to let my gum grow before the implant. Later another dentist suggested not to extract my remaining bone inside the gum, and to let me to wait for the implant when I'm at about 21-22years old, 1-2 years later because my gum will look nicer when implant at the later age. I don't really wish to wear denture for long, after experience wearing it a day. I wish someone could give me a few better suggestions or alternatives. So that I could know more before I go back to dentist again. Thanks

I went to a doc ten days ago, he said it was just a virus. Tried to get in at the ER, waiting would have been over 15 hours. I do not have health insurance, just moved to San Antonio, only been on job for three weeks. Doctors don't always know best. They might think its best by playing it safe or he may have his motives for wanting to do it his way. But baby still may change his position up until your due date. I would recommend getting a second opinion or if there is no other major reason just waiting until due date to make that decision and give baby some time to make up his mind.

ok so i have had pain in the lower right hand side of my stomach for about 3 weeks. i know it sounds like a long time. it isn't very severe. i ca live with it but i'm just worried about whats wrong with me. i have gone to webmd.com and the symptoms say you have had pain for more than 4 hours just 4 hours and i've had it for weeks so i don't know if it is appendicitis. it also says you should have a fever, feeling sick, and not wanting to eat, and it should hurt more when you are moving. i have none of these symptoms. but when i lay on my stomach and put preasure on it it doesn't hut as much. also i have diarhea and the website says appendicitis doesn't make you have diarhea. i haven't told my family that it hurts and i haven't gone to the doctor because i don't want to feel stupid if the do tests and don't find anything wrong with me. i did start birth control about 4 weeks ago but the pain doesn't really seem to be anywhere near that general area of my stomach. so what should i do sos

Husband wants divorce and I have no idea why! Help!?

Alright so my husband works 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off in another province, so he flys back and forth (camp job no females all males). He left last Saturday and when he left everything was great we were happy in love etc and everything was perfect. Wednesday morning he texted me and said he loved me and he'd talk to me after work... then he emailed me that night and said when he got home he was filing for a divorce that he wasn't happy and that he was relieved to be away from me. I WAS DUMBFOUNDED! I know 100% he is happy because I have seen him unhappy before and he was not in anyway. He has not spoke to me since and said he would not be talking to me until he was home and then he would speak to me about money and visitations with our 11 month old son. I am so confused and I don't know what to think! Now, everytime we have issues which we have over the years he always runs from them rather then faces them, and always starts talking to his ex from when he was 16... They both say they are only friends and I haven't seen any evidence otherwise and she always has a boyfriend when they are speaking... He started calling and texting her on Friday (I can see everything he does on his cell phone through the carriers website). So I flipped out and shut his phone off when I found out Yesterday. He won't even talk to me but talks away to this floosy.. doesn't even bother to ask me how our son is or nothing! SO I texted her which she knows I would do because everytime something happens I text her, usually we're pretty civil and she tells me what he says etc.. this time she wasn't answering because he did this in August and was lying to her about being back with me etc and she was fed up with hiim lying and didn't want to be his friend anymore, so I figured that was why she wasn't answering me... So I Started calling her names and telling her she was ugly etc, normal woman cattyness! THEN SHE COMES TO MY HOUSE this crazy comes to my house where I am alone with my son and she bangs on my door telling me I should come out etc... I called the cops to report harment. I don't know what makes her think it was okay to come to my house because I'd liek to know what her plan was if I answered the door with an infant sitting on my hip... Anyways, my husband knows what happened even though I shut off his phone because he bought a calling card and called his mother, who told him, and she said he acted as though he already knew, so he obviously also called the floosy on the calling card. UNBELIEVABLE RIGHT? Still talking to this person who came to his home where his wife and baby son are haring them... pretty much talking to her saying it's alright she did that and doesn't even CALL ME! SO that's my situation.. He comes home next Monday for 2 weeks and I don't even want to think about what's going to happen. He likes to take breaks from reality it seems and live like a teenager while he can. How can I make him realize this time he has to win me back? That I have a backbone now and it's NOT OKAY that he is doing this to us again? I love him more than anything even though this is all going on he is still my husband and father of my child... I need to make him know that I'm not here like a sitting duck waiting for his return again and I think the first step was me shutting off his cell phone. What else can I do? I have nothing against fashionable dress nor modern conveniences, but these girls are not experiencing childhood as it should be experienced. Instead of riding bikes, they counting the number of friends they have on Facebook. Instead of reading a good book before bed, they spend their nights removing eyeshadow and lip gloss. They text and listen to their iPods on the way home from school instead of discussing the day's events with their parents. It is a hallmark for young children to want to act and appear older than they are, but I find it heartbreaking.

What should I do to hasten the repair of my flooded 5 month old Nissan Sentra GX 2009?

It has been 3 months now since I first brought my car for repairs at Nissan Gallery at Libis and they have been giving me the run around. The car is covered by the AOG insurance (as it was flooded). The casa seems to be very inefficient in terms of essing the required parts for replacement, costing it and faxing it to the insurance for the go ahead (LOA) which then just be the cue for requesting the parts to NMPI, which in turn excuses itself saying that the parts are to be imported blah blah blah. I can’t seem to find a decent sleep and I just can not accept it to myself that there is nothing else that can be done to accomplish a very simple task. Three (3) months has ped and the excuse of importing the parts is no longer comfortable. It is very disturbing that I am just waiting mercilessly, pitifully and hopeless for some kind of miracle to happen for such a tangible, realistically possible repair of a flooded car.

Everyone goes through the trauma some time or the other as he sees death of their near and dear ones. This could be natural or accidental. Even in case of natural death, till the time person is declared dead he was alive and so you would still believe he would have lived another few years.
