Dell studio 1535 Optical drive issues?

my D drive, or Optical drive, wasnt working, it would make a clanking noise when i turned the laptop on, and when i inserted a disk it would make the same noise then eject the disk, so i took apart my laptop, took out the D drive and replaced it with a new one, it is still making the noise and ejecting the disk. what do i do next??
